1. Controller

2. Project status
Genefy is currently a personal, non-commercial technical project. It is not offered as a sales product and is not operated for profit.
3. Purpose
Genefy processes data to provide login, email verification, access control for allowed organizations, organization settings, system emails, recovery functions, and notification functions.
4. Data processed
Depending on use, Genefy processes contact details, organization assignment, verification and access status, roles, legal acceptance proof, necessary security proof, system email status, notification data, Owner-only user activity logs, and necessary local browser data for settings and daily logs. Administrators can create and import recovery files to restore Genefy after a reinstall.
5. Cookies and local storage
Genefy uses essential cookies for login, security, and storing your cookie choice. The cookie choice is stored in the genefy_cookie_consent cookie. The alert page also uses necessary local browser storage for settings, daily counters, and the daily activity log. Genefy currently does not use analytics or marketing cookies.
6. Server data
Notification events are stored briefly so open browser pages can retrieve them. Pending verification records, email verification tokens, legal acceptance proof, organization records, roles, organization contact emails, Genesys trigger links, send timestamps, and registered email addresses may be stored for access control and security. Old notification events and activity logs are cleaned automatically.
7. Disclosure
Data handling is limited to login, verification, access control, system email delivery, and notification functions. Disclosure is limited to what is needed for technical operation, legal obligations, or legitimate security purposes.
8. Retention
Pending email verification records are cleaned after 7 days. Declined or failed access records are cleaned after 30 days. Admin audit events and deleted user/request summaries are kept for up to 90 days. Owner-only user activity logs are kept for up to 180 days. Legal acceptance proof is stored while the account exists; after deletion, only a limited summary is kept for up to 90 days. Local daily logs remain stored only for the current browser day.
9. Your control
You can clear locally stored browser data through your browser site-data settings and reopen the cookie choice through the “Cookie settings” link. For privacy questions, contact contact@genefy.de.
